Wine Cork Fridge Magnets - #TBCCrafters

New years eve is over and I hope you had fun!  If you too are finding yourself still cleaning up from your night of fun don't be too quick to throw out all the "trash". You may be able to find some treasures amidst the junk. One item that I snagged up before it was tossed out (and an item we had quite a bit of) was wine corks! These babies are great for re purposing!

Here is a quick little craft that you can make and actually use year round in your home. I mean who doesn't need more fridge magnets. . I know I always do!

Re purposed Wine Corks into Fridge Magnets

You will need:
  • Wine Corks
  • Hot Glue
  • Magnet Strips or Discs
Directions:
  1. Begin by carefully cutting your wine corks in half. I did this simply by using a knife and a cutting board. Make sure to place the cork with a flat end down, otherwise it could roll mid cut and you could get hurt. BE CAREFUL!
  2. Next use hot glue to secure your magnet to the back side (flat side) of the wine cork.
  3. After the glue is dry, enjoy!

This weeks craft is simple and easy, but makes a really cute design element for your kitchen. Thanks for joining us!

    1. I was thinking the same thing that this would make a great gift. I think I will have to make some of these to take to my next craft show.

  3. Just a quick tip for those who aren't big wine drinkers. You can purchase wine corks from wine distilleries (or anywhere that sells wine making kits). If you are in the Linden/Fenton area, they carry them at Ace Hardware. :)

    1. Thanks for the tip Meagan! Good to know. I have several more crafts I would like to make with corks but need to be sober enough to use a glue gun. Lol.
